Which mobility scooter should I hire?
We hire nine mobility scooters from our Central London showroom at 19 Connaught Street, near Marble Arch. Answer four questions below to find the right one, or compare them all. Ranges are the maximum quoted; real London range is lower in cold weather and on hills. We keep 15+ lightweight and ultralight scooters and 5 heavy-duty scooters at our showroom.
Find your scooter in four questions
- Do you weigh more than 120 kg (265 lb)? Up to 120 kg (265 lb), every scooter fits. From 120 to 136 kg (265 to 300 lb), choose the Ultralight Superhandy 13-mile (up to 124.7 kg / 275 lb), Lightweight 7.5-mile or any heavyweight scooter. Over 136 kg (300 lb), choose a heavyweight scooter; over 159 kg (351 lb), the Heavyweight 6 mph or Heavyweight 20-mile.
- What matters more: a comfortable high-back seat, or a light scooter that folds? For comfort over a full day, choose a heavyweight scooter. For folding and lifting, choose the Ultralight Carbon 15-mile, Ultralight 30-mile or Ultralight Superhandy 13-mile.
- Are there any steps on your route, or at your hotel or Airbnb? If yes, even a few, choose a folding scooter that can be lifted (16 to 20 kg / 35 to 44 lb); heavy-duty scooters weigh 60 kg (132 lb) or more and can't be carried. If everywhere is step-free with ramps and lifts, a heavy-duty scooter works, and the Heavyweight 6 mph is the narrowest at 560 mm for small lifts.
- How far will you go, and will you use taxis? For black cabs and Ubers, the folding ultralight scooters fit in a boot or cab. For a full day on the go, the Ultralight 30-mile (up to 30 miles), Heavyweight 6 mph (21 miles) or Heavyweight 20-mile (20 to 30 miles).
